“Therapy Billing and Clinician Documentation”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. March 20th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
As therapists performing seating and mobility evaluations, there are two types of denials we need to avoid. The first is a denial for our clinical evaluation and services and the second is a denial for the equipment we are recommending. If either of these denials occur often enough, you will not be performing seating and mobility evaluations much longer. This course will provide concrete ideas and proven billing techniques to help ensure optimal reimbursement for your evaluation and on-going services. It will also review the essential information required to justify the equipment we are recommending so that our patients get what they need.
“Mobility Interventions for People with Cerebral Palsy”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. May 15th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
Presented By: Michelle L. Lange.
This webinar will address mobility interventions specifically for people with the diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy can limit functional mobility due to abnormal muscle tone, reflexes and uncontrolled movements. Appropriate positioning is critical to optimize functional skills. Manual wheelchairs may meet an individual’s mobility needs and specific requirements will be discussed. If a power wheelchair is required to provide independent and efficient mobility, alternative access may be required. Specific access methods and programming for this population will be discussed. People with cerebral palsy may experience significant changes due to growth and medical interventions which also need to be accommodated.
“Seating Interventions for People with ALS”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. June 19th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
A client with ALS is going through constant functional changes in their life. For most who have ALS, their independence seems to be slipping away. Proper seating and positioning is extremely important for good functional outcomes even as the individual changes. As part of a seating team, we must all think about each one of the client’s needs now and in the future. This one hour webinar will provide attendees with an overview of the seating and positioning needs of the client who has ALS and how seating and power positioning can be utilized to allow continued independence with mobility within their different environments.
“Seating Interventions for People with Cerebral Palsy”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. July 17th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
This one-hour webinar is designed to provide applicable concepts to anyone involved in the assessment and prescription of seating and mobility technology for persons with cerebral palsy. Individuals with cerebral palsy have varying yet very distinguished characteristics. This course will review the definition, etiology, and pathology. The audience will receive information on common functional/postural presentations and evaluation procedures for each. Special emphasis will be placed on our ability to identify symptoms from causes as it relates to some of the more common postural presentations. A case example will be utilized to apply the seating principles and technology application. By the end of the course the audience will be able to understand how to incorporate seating and mobility principles to individuals with cerebral palsy.
“Mobility Interventions for People with ALS”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. September 18th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
ALS is a progressive neurological disease that presents a distinct set of challenges due to the rapidly changing disease process. This course will address the need to be proactive and responsive to address the needs of these clients from referral to delivery with regard to the prescription of mobility devices, specific features and components of power chairs and seating systems, selection of alternative drive control options, integration of respiratory support devices and integration of other Assistive Technology into the wheelchair.
“Mobility Interventions for People with Spinal Cord Injuries”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. October 16th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
This webinar will explore the multiplicity of considerations for determining mobility recommendations for people with spinal cord injuries. Manual wheelchair configurations to optimize propulsion efficiency will be reviewed as well as other factors that may influence equipment choices for all levels of injury and mobility, such as independence in weight shifts, transfers and environmental situations. Wheelchair base and seating options will be addressed to promote long-term health and independence. Case studies will help to illustrate these issues.
“Pediatric Mobility”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. November 13th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
This session discusses current research about how motor experience interacts with cognitive development in infants and young children. The presenter will discuss how the brain changes at the ICF impairment level as developing skills interact at the activity and participation levels. Topics include use of power mobility, mobile prone standers and gait trainers to facilitate learning with mobility. Finally, the session offers suggestions for applying principles of neuroplasticity to increase the effectiveness of intervention, focusing on early power mobility and overground training (gait trainers).
“The Mat Exam”
0.1 (CEUs) for attending 1.0 hours of instruction. December 18th 11:30AM EST Cost: $15
This one-hour webinar is designed to provide applicable concepts to anyone involved in the assessment and prescription of seating and mobility technology. The focus of discussion will be on principles and biomechanics of seating and wheeled mobility. The assessment process will be reviewed from initial client contact through the final equipment prescription. Special emphasis will be placed on the value of the “hands on” assessment as well as on how to translate the assessment findings into necessary product parameters. This webinar will facilitate critical thinking and assist participants in confident decision-making, clear documentation and positive objective outcomes.
