This session will provide clear details concerning current Medicare policies regarding wheeled mobility and seating. Information will include a review of recent changes in local coverage determinations (LCDs) and policy articles. In addition, a fresh perspective regarding documentation and the importance of painting a picture of each person so the claim reviewer sees what you see will be presented. Finally, this session will include a look at funding trends that will help you prepare for a future in complex rehab technology provision.

Mrs. Hostak is Vice President of Government Relations for Sunrise Medical, a global manufacturer of complex rehabilitation technology (CRT) and Chair of the Regulatory Committee of the National Coalition for Assistive and Rehab Technology (NCART). In both roles, Mrs. Hostak is involved in efforts to ensure ongoing access to CRT. This requires in-depth knowledge of regulatory processes related to coding, coverage and payment for durable medical equipment (DME) for which CRT is included. Mrs. Hostak is a NRRTS Fellow recognized by the assistive technology community for her regulatory expertise, contributions to the field of CRT and efforts to ensure appropriate access to technology for people with disabilities.
