A Discussion with Mike Mowry, ATG Rehab

Mike Mowry, ATP, has been with ATG Rehab for more than seven years. A graduate from Quinnipiac University with a degree in health science and gerontology, he provides seating & mobility services to the Connecticut and New York areas.
Before joining ATG Rehab in 2003, Mowry worked in the private sector as an administrator providing services to adults and children with special needs. With ATG, he has worked with a diverse group of consumers, including seniors. But most of his clients now are children and young people with diagnoses ranging from cerebral palsy to muscular dystrophy and spinal muscular atrophy…
“The Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) of 2008, passed on July 15, included a 9.5% payment reduction for all products included in the competitive bidding program. While Congress recognized the need to exempt Complex Rehab power wheelchairs and related accessories from competitive bidding under the legislation, the reduction still applies to these uniquely configured, highly complex products on January 1, 2009. This will jeopardized beneficiary access to the full range of products and services necessary to meet the unique and individual medical needs of people with disabilities.”
